Monte's Lunch is named in honour of Monte Snow, a third-generation fishmonger whose career spans more than four decades in the seafood business. Beginning in his family's lobster operation as a child, Monte became a respected industry leader known for his deep seafood expertise, strong relationships, and lifelong passion for the people and communities that depend on the ocean.

That same passion is woven into the story of Fisherman's Market. Founded on the Halifax waterfront in 1948, the company has grown from a small neighbourhood fish market into one of Canada's leading seafood businesses.
